Fruit & More S’mores

Fruit & More S'mores; msalishacarlson.com/It’s fruit. It’s chocolate or peanut butter or more fruit. Sprinkle some chips here. Drizzle some sauce there and VIOLA… it’s a personalized Fruit & More S’more! And it is one of the best and funnest (yah, I said funnest) snacks I think we’ve had in a long time. Not only was it fun to eat, but it’s fun to create!

I typically don’t go too overboard on snacks. But this particular weekend my in-laws were visiting. We had a late breakfast, a smallish lunch, and knew it would be a late dinner. So we needed something substancial to tie us over mid-day. Plus, I wanted an activity that the boys and grandma would both enjoy. Thus began our graham cracker culinary creations.

I love this expression as Connor so nicely went to drizzle sugar-free chocolate syrup on his s’more, but instead had a chocolate explosion. Even after Grandma retrieved the bottle (below), his face was still that of total amazement!

The best thing about this snack is that the toppings are endless! And they’re all things you probably have in your pantry already.

Topping Ideas:

Spreads
Natural Peanut Butter
Jam or Jelly (we used Light Preserves since it’s 40% less sugar & 40% fewer calories)

Fruits
Apples
Bananas
Blueberries
Raspberries
Strawberries

The creations are delicious and pretty! And customized to each person’s preferences! Below are a couple of our favorites.

And as you can tell by their jelly and chocolate covered faces, the boys LOVED their snacks and the experience of making them! Our middle child, who loves to help me bake and set the table, was thrilled to get his own creative time in the kitchen. Connor found his chocolate puddle was good for dipping after his s’mores were gone. And our littlest guy, well he was just adorable… he put marshmallows on each one of his s’mores, but ate them off the top first. And everyone from toddler to Grandpa enjoyed snack time!
